In a place as untouched as this, history is not to be avoided. Bolmsö is rich in cultural heritage and was the center of the former county kingdoms Finnveden. There are a number of documented ancient places, there are stone quarries from the stone age, the rocks from the Bronze Age and the burial field with stone stems from the Iron Age. The findings show that Bolmsö has been inhabited since the Stone Age.
Hägern was built in 1943 by Per Gottfried Berglund. It was originally a hunting lodge but has been home to a variety of activities.
Since 1997, the property belongs to the Sandrock family, which has served both restaurant, camping and b & b. With the help of their experience in hotels and tourism, they have developed today's business concept.
